TAQ VOLUNTEER POLICY

As the premier swimming facility in Louisiana, we host several meets each year, including Age Group and Senior State Championships. We are fortunate to be able to host meets as this allows families to stay in town and saves the costs and stress of traveling to away meets on weekends.

However, in order to run a successful meet, it requires the entire team. Therefore, our policy is that if a swimmer is entered in a meet, that family is required to volunteer. There are several positions available for each meet and training will be provided.

Volunteer opportunities at our Home Meets
  • Timers (use stopwatch to collect and record swimmers' times)
  • Concession Workers (sell snacks and drinks to spectators and swimmers)
  • Booth Workers (operating the timing and computer systems).
  • Meet Marshall (sit at entrance to deck to ensure only swimmers/coaches/officials enter)
  • Hospitality Donations -  As hosts, we are responsible for feeding all the coaches and officials throughout the meet. Donations such as desserts, snacks, veggies, fruit, pastries/donuts, etc. are very much appreciated by all. We are often told by those coaches attending our meets how impressed they are with our Hospitality.

Job sign-up links will be sent out at the beginning of the week of the meet listing all volunteer positions needed.

We also are in need of Officials. Please let us know if you are interested in becoming an Official.
