Paws - "Where new young swimmers graduate to develop stronger skills and endurance"

The PAWS Group is designed for swimmers ages 5 and older. The emphasis of this group is to gain better technique of all four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly, as well as proper starts and turns. Other emphasis will be placed on kicking, streamline, proper body position in the water, but most of all having FUN! We encourage ALL members of this group to participate in at least 3 swim meets per season & 8 & under championships. We hope that through this group, young swimmers will continue to swim and move into the next group (Cubs). The Paws group offers 5 practices a week; it is recommended that you attend 3 per week.
Cubs- "Where new swimmers who know all four strokes begin to learn more of the competition side of the sport"

The Cubs Group is designed for the more competitive 10 & Under. Cubs will continue to work on technique of ALL four stroke: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, & butterfly. A focus will be set on IM, underwater kicking, racing, attendance, & clock reading. Cubs will also learn how to do and complete a set during a workout. ALL Cubs will be required to attend at least 3 meets throughout the season, plus regular season meets and 8 & Under Championships. The Cubs group offers 5 practices per week; it is recommended that you attend AT LEAST 3.
Jr Tigers - "Where age-group athletes start to define themselves and become more competitive swimmers at a state level".

Dryland Days - Tuesday & Thursday
The Jr Tiger Group is our 3rd level of age group training. This level of training involves continued stroke technique and an increase in endurance training. This group will focus on interval training, competition, and coordination in and out of the water. Practices will average 2,500-4,000 per workout. Jr Tigers will introduce new dryland techniques to help with speed, body control, and coordination in the water. This groups focus will be on qualifying and competing at the Louisiana state championship meets both short course and long course . Jr Tigers will practice 5 days per week. Athletes are expected to attend and average of 4 per week.

The Tigers Group is our highest level of age group training. Athletes must be fully committed to the sport of swimming and ready to their training to the highest level possible. This level of training involves continued stroke technique, endurance training goal setting, mental toughness, and commitment. Practices will average 4,000-6,000 per workout. Tiger's dryland techniques will involve power, speed, and agility outside of the pool. Therefore, entry into this group is not based just on swim times but, a variety of factors including the swimmers physical maturity, ability to commit the time and effort, and the fitness level to participate in demanding practices, year round. Tigers will practice 6 days per week. Athletes must attend 5 out of 6 workouts per week.

The State Group is designed for swimmers who are beyond the Age Group Program, but not quite ready for the training demands of Varsity. They are focused on group goals, which include technique development, building a high level training base, racing, and goal setting. These swimmers must be prepared to work hard in practice and compete in meets. Stroke refinement is key in this group, as the swimmers begin to experience more intense, longer workouts. Practices are offered five days a week and include dryland as well as water training. The State Group will be offered as a seasonal program during the middle/high school swim season, as well as a year-round training program.
Varsity "Where senior level swimmers train to compete at a National level."
