Brady Grenfell Wins Don Cook Memorial Award TAQ Freshman Brady Grenfell was awarded the Don Cook Memorial Award for his Louisiana State meet performance during the 2010-2011 year. The award is given to the male and female swimmer from the Baton Rouge area who scores the most combined points during the Short Course and Long Course State meet each year. Grant Grenfell Named USA Swimming Academic All-American TAQ Senior Grant Grenfell has been named to the 2010-2011 USA Swimming Academic All-American roster. This is a great honor for Grant and our team. Last years roster included 708 boys from around the country. Grant as worked toward excellence in the pool and the classroom. TAQ Introduces NEW Swimmer Referral Program Tiger Aquatics will now offer a $25 credit toward team dues to any family who refers a new member. This program will include all groups and Swim America. There will be a section on all registration forms where each new member can list the family that referred them to our program. Each family can receive multiple credits during each month. The referral program will run year round. The referring family will receive their credit during the month that the referred family joins the team....
Nine TAQ Swimmers Chosen to Represent Louisiana Honors continue to flow for TAQ swimmers after a strong performance at the 2011 Long Course Louisiana State Championships. The Louisiana Zone Championship Team was selected at the conclusion of the State Championships. The nine swimmers selected will compete against All Star teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, and Tennessee. Six TAQ Swimmers Set to Compete in Texas Sectional Championships Tiger Aquatics will bring a strong representation to the 2011 Texas Sectional Championships on July 26th-30th. The meet will be held in The Woodlands, Texas and will draw top talent from around the country. This meet serves as a last chance for swimmers to qualify for the USA Swimming National and Junior National Championships held in August. TAQ Sets 3rd State Record and Finishes 2nd in Summer Classic Invite Congratulations to Lance Michael Rodriguez for his 2nd State Record during the 2011 TAQ Summer Classic. Rodriguez set the record in the 800 meter freestyle with a time of 10:09.06 on Sunday. Tiger Aquatics finished in 2nd place and City of Mobile finished in 1st. TAQ Breaks 20 Year Old State Relay Record Tiger Aquatics continued it's record breaking performance on the 3rd night of the 2011 TAQ Summer Classic Invite. The foursome of Emily Rush, Joy Jason, Sara Lessard, and Alyssa Dilldine broke the 15-16 year old girls state record in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 4:37.03. The record was set by the BOLTS back in 1991. Congratulations to all four girls and way to go TAQ!!!!
TAQ Records State Record and New Junior National Cut Day two of the TAQ Summer Classic has come to an end and it has been an exciting meet! We are proud to host teams from Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana. Lance Michael Rodriguez broke the Louisiana state record in the 11-12 boys 1500 meter freestyle on night one of the meet.
